18 April - 18 May 2012 - personal art exhibition " Near extinction birds and feelings" @ Carturesti Book Store in Timisoara, Romania.
The exhibition shows a world in which the forests, animals and birds are not threatened.
The artist expresses her melancholy for a time when we, human beings, used to pay more attention to nature and had a deeper connection to the universe. Each character inside the world she describes takes a frog, an insect, or a bird under its wing and protects them.
Among all the rare species of birds there's the chicken, because our feelings towards this being are ignored.
Playing with the transparency of various materials, Olivia succeeds in highlighting the sensitivity of the characters, and the little mirrors which decorate the paintings are nothing but an excursion into depth, another dimension facing the world that artist tells us about.
Gabriel Kelemen, PhD in visual arts, considers that Olivia's works are an expansive search through which the artist manages to relocate her creative reef. He says she brought spirituality back to life. The birds are those that belong to the subtle level of human body. We talk about self-portrait, portraits about the exit of the artist from the mirror. About an emotional freeze frame, rather then about a photography. The paintings are framed by windows that penetrate the epidermis of the dream. The frequent appearance of feathers represents the easiness with which the spirit is weighted. The gauze, the butterflies, all this delicate details are a state of the irregular flight, of a humble breeze - an emotional shyness that is slightly erotic. The domestic bird would pick up pearls from our palms, showing a complex space of a fantastic world - one that belongs to the sun, one that is not morbid, confessed Gabriel Kelemen. She is interested in the collective unconscious and the connection between all living and non-living beings.
